And we're off.

First of November, folks. Starting midnight, I opened up a new Word file and puttered away at my keyboard. I did about 700 words before deciding to take a sleep break. It took me half an hour, which is just a little short of the speed I used to make in school, where I would have to do a 1500 word essay or short story in 40 minutes to an hour. Maybe practice will make perfect.. But, it's also a lot faster than I estimated, meaning I can allocate the greater part of my 2-hours-writing-per-day to the literature review on my thesis project.
*le sigh*

Anyways, I'm sticking very hard to the 'no editing' rule at this point, and even harder to the 'just go with the flow' rule and letting my story run away with me. g.o.k. how this is going to turn out.

Ending with a quote from Phillip Pullman's pep-talk:

"Novels that last and please readers are written because the novelist is intoxicated by the delight and the endlessly renewable joy that comes from engaging with imaginary characters"

See you on the other side!

P.S.: In other news, it snowed proper today. Winter's here too.
