NaNoWriter

Hello, my friends,

This year, at the risk of incurring my PI's wrath, at the risk of driving the people who have to live with me insane, at the risk of attempting something colossal and failing (to hide my face under a paper bag thereafter) - I have signed up for NaNoWriMo. For the uninitiated, this stands for 'National Novel Writing Month' which is really an international event where writers (even imaginary ones) decide to sit down and write all November, not editing a word until after it's all done.
I fall into the 'imaginary' category because while I write (essays in school, diary, blog, LJ), I'm not very consistent. To reach the stipulated word target of 50,000 words in the 30 days of November, I'll need to write ~1700 words every single day. Every day I miss will mean 1700 words more to make up on every day that's left. No easy task for a slacker, and a full-time grad-student, nyet?

If you can't tell, I'm freaking out already. I promise, to be entertaining, though. Expect to see more of me in the next few weeks :)
