What a busy few weeks it's been.. I haven't had many a weekend to myself because I've been spending upwards of 5 hours a day every weekend sitting in the sun. Mountain country may get truckloads of snow in the winter, but the summers do full justice to the fact that we are, in fact, in the middle of a desert. I'm actually quite fascinated by the tan I've acquired, and surprised to learn that I can actually burn.
The cause for all the sun? The boys have been playing cricket, the first of two tournaments. They blazed their way to the finals and lost by a whisker, but it was pretty fun. I learnt to bowl today, albeit I have no control over where I land the ball.

In other news - I've just signed over my soul a new lease on the apartment I curently live in, so I get to stay another 12 months. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's everything I really want out of a house, and I'm really too lazy to find a new place and haul all my stuff there.

Tomorrow's Pioneer Day, a uniquely Utah'n holiday (as far as I can make out). There's a parade downtown where everybody's dressed in white, from what I've heard. I'll probably be in lab, so the only real difference is that there's no bus service.

Ooh! And I made chocolate and strawberry ice creams!
